The Exit Plan for Employers and Employees

The Exit Plan for Employers and Employees

I shall do today what others will not so that
tomorrow I can do what others cannot

Planning your future should include an Exit Plan for the many changes in your business and private life.

The changes can include: possible promotion, a transfer, loss of a key employee, reduction of working hours, illness or incapacity, redundancy or retirement.

There are many aspects to consider in facilitating an Exit Process whether it is planned or unplanned.

For employers/managers it involves:

  • succession planning
  • retaining Generation Y through training & promotion
  • delegating & “letting go” of favourite or responsible tasks
  • discovering employees’ personal goals and aligning them with those of the company/organisation
  • planning the transition of mature employees to retirement

For employees it involves:

  • self responsibility for up skilling and multi skilling
  • accepting that change is inevitable
  • traditional versus current work practices
  • a plan in case of redundancy
  • skills in searching for employment in today’s recruitment world; presentation, interviewing etc.
  • planning for retirement: financially, domestically, leisure time, volunteering
  • setting long term goals to allow choices in when to retire
  • considering the significance of home based employment/business

Beneficial to: for anyone who is contemplating a life without working for an employer: full or part time, a desire for more freedom of choice and who appreciates the necessity of planning for the future as one ages.

Recommended Duration: One (1) day seminar
